Aviation advocacy

MAMA is a strong dedicated organization, advocating for aviation in the state and federal arenas, protecting the regulatory and legislative interest of aviation and airport facilities.

Advocacy

MAMA’s multi-pronged aviation advocacy efforts across the Commonwealth are made ideally with education in mind. Educating local government, airport users, abutters, cities and towns and businesses regarding aviation issues helps bridge the gap that can emerge between interested parties.

On the state level, MAMA is strongly engaged in working with State Legislatures to Department of Transportation officials up to the Governor’s office. These connections at the State House and throughout the regions of the Commonwealth allow for information sharing and keeping our message of the important of aviation to the state.

On the national level, MAMA works with national aviation organizations from AOPA to NBAA and many others to share information concerning other states and on the federal level.

Our leadership has strong connections across the state and country with public and private aviation groups to ensure Massachusetts and all aviation interests are represented.

On the Hill Day

Every May, MAMA leadership and a number of members head to the State House to interact with our legislative leaders to discuss our platform and their questions or concerns. This event is vital to the organization due to the connections made between the MAMA and legislative representatives.

Legislative Objectives

    • As the leading aviation advocacy group in Massachusetts, MAMA works to educate our elected officials at local, state, and federal levels.
    • MAMA supports and works closely with the Massachusetts Aviation Legislative Caucus.
